GENERAL REFRACTORIES - Celebrates 30 Years

As part of the celebrations for the thirtieth anniversary, GENERAL REFRACTORIES chose the culinary excellence of MAX&KITCHEN Catering Milan to delight their guests. The event, characterized by moments of sharing and celebration, reached its peak with the cake cutting at the historic Villa Borromeo Visconti Litta in Lainate, a pearl of Milanese architectural and historical heritage.

The Villa: Nestled in three hectares of land, Villa Borromeo Visconti Litta stands out as one of the most fascinating and prestigious locations in the Milanese province. Inspired by the Tuscan villas of the Medici family, it was commissioned by Pirro I Visconti Borromeo back in 1585. Its great majesty resides not only in the architectural structure but also in the Nymphaeum, a jewel of decorations and water features. The evolution of the villa continues with Marquis Pompeo Litta, who in 1750 renews the scenery and enriches the Nymphaeum. After various changes of ownership, Alberto Toselli purchased the complex in 1932, subjecting it to restorations and reactivating the famous water games.

Every ingredient is carefully chosen, from the black pig breed to cheeses selected from different Italian regions. Extra virgin olive oil from the Slow Food presidium and seasonal vegetables grown directly on Max&Kitchen’s farm are just some of the elements that make every dish a unique experience for the palate.
